Nathaniel Currier, publisher (American, 1813-1888) CLIPPER SHIP "NIGHTENGALE. " GETTING UNDER WEIGH OFF THE BATTERY, NEW YORK. 1854, (Conningham, 1159). Identified by inscriptions in the matrix. Lithograph with hand-coloring on paper, sheet size 22 5/8 x 22 1/2 in., in a molded maple frame. Condition: Margins of 2 7/8 in. or more, scattered light spotty stains, a few light brown vertical streaks. Note: This lithograph ranked no. 33 in the original "Best 50" large folio.
