Currier & Ives, publishers (American, 1857-1907) AUTUMN IN NEW ENGLAND. Cider Making 1866, (Conningham 322). Identified by inscriptions in the matrix. Lithograph with hand-coloring on paper, sheet size 21 x 28 in., in a molded maple frame. Condition: Margins of 1 1/4 in. or more, repaired tear c.l. margin, light stains and toning most visible in the margins and sky, few light surface abrasions in the margins, two unobtrusive abrasions into image with associated retouch. Note: This lithograph ranked no. 31 in the original "Best 50," and no. 18 in the "New Best 50" large folio.
