Currier & Ives, publishers (American, 1857-1907) LIFE ON THE PRAIRIE. The Buffalo Hunt. 1862, (Conningham, 3527). Identified by inscriptions in the matrix. Lithograph with hand-coloring on paper, sheet size 21 1/4 x 29 1/2 in., in a molded maple frame. Condition: Margins of 1 1/4 in. or more, several repaired tears, all except one are within the margins, one about 1 1/2 in. into l.l. image, subtle toning, retouch to sky and margins. Note: This lithograph ranked no. 6 in the original "Best 50," and no. 30 in the "New Best 50" large folio.
