Rare Northern California Ceremonial Double Skirt, probably Yurok, 19th century, the back skirt an entire deerskin folded laterally, decorated with thin strips wrapped with three colored maiden hair fern fibers, the fringe decorated with small white clam shells, large abalone plaques and glass trade beads, the smaller front apron of long buckskin fringe wrapped and braided with vegetal fibers and trimmed white olivella shells, (minor damage to buckskin), wd. of back of skirt 40 in.
