Central Plains Beaded Hide Pipe Bag, Lakota, c. last quarter 19th century, the yellow stained buckskin bag with a row of beadwork at the top, three rows of lazy-stitch beadwork descending to a lower beaded panel, both sides beaded with typical Lakota designs in dark blue, white centered and green on a white ground, below the beaded panel are quill-wrapped rawhide slats and long yellow-stained fringe, printed on the upper part is the name C.E. Dallin, lg. 35 in. Provenance: Cyrus Edwin Dallin was creator of the famous bronze entitled Appeal to the Great Spirit.
