French, 19th century. Carved giltwood and gesso mirror with rectangular beveled looking glass bordered by a narrow, sanded area, followed by beading and molding decorated with acanthus leaves on a stippled ground. Outer edge also with laurel leaves bound by crossed ribbons. Back of mirror fixed with hardware to hang vertically or horizontally. Overall 49.25" x 33.25". Mirror only 37.7" x 21.6".
