French School, 18th century. "Beauty Admiring Her Reflection", oil on canvas laid down on wood panel, apparently unsigned. Supraporte painting depicting a classical figural grouping with a young beauty having exposed breast reclining in an interior with her attendant behind fixing her hair as she peers into a mirror supported by a winged putti at right, the interior with a fringed drape behind that opens to reveal a lush landscape and figural statuary in background. Painting framed in a period gilt and carved wood frame incurvate to each edge, meant to be hung above an interior doorway. Overall approximately 30.25" x 35.75".
