Spanish Silver and Coin Mounted Presentation Staff, late 19th century, the wooden shaft set with engraved silver collars, the six sided handle engraved with scrolls and name, and hung with bead-topped Chilean and Bolivian coins dated 1815 to 1893, further mounted with glass paste set foliates, lg. 33 3/8 in. Note: Examples of this type were presented by the Spanish Viceroy to Indian chiefs loyal to Spain.
