Two Diminutive Woven Splint Baskets and a Woven Splint Tray, probably Taghkanic, New York, late 19th to early 20th century, one with a round rim on a hexagonal base with hexagon weave and upright handle, one with shallow sides, round rim and a square base with two parallel upright handles, the rectangular tray with carved loop handles, ht. 4, 3 1/8, 2 1/4, dia. 3 1/2, 3 7/8, 12 1/2 in. Literature: Made in an area close to the Mount Lebanon Shaker community, the Taghkanic basketry influenced the baskets the Shakers made for the "outside world."
