Black Transfer Printed Liverpool Creamware Jug, England, early 19th century, the small jug with "THE UNION OF THE TWO GREAT REPUBLICS" on a banner under the French and American flags, Liberty cap, wreath, weapons, and flowers, the reverse with a profile bust portrait of George Washington over a banner with "Long Live the President of the United States," flanked by Liberty saying "My Favorite Son," and Justice saying "Deafness to the Ear that will patiently hear & Dumbness to the Tongue that will utter a Calumny against the immortal Washington," (crack, loss, spout chips), ht. 6 5/8 in.
