Clymer, George (1739-1813), Signer from Pennsylvania, Autograph Letter Signed, September 30th, 1791, one page, to Alexander Hamilton as Secretary of the Treasury, concerning the methods of transferring casks of spirits and the labeling of such vessels as well as which methods are preferred by inspectors, "the practice of marking the casks of spirits with the brush; but the method they strongly recommend...is to paste the accompanying certificate...on the head of the cask, crossing a point and done under what is called a Chime," with holograph address leaf, docketed, (repaired seal loss, good).
