It is a hard bound book that covers both her social life and her artistic appreciation and contributions, examining her formal studies of art history at Vassar, her flexibility and travels, and her portraits. Artwork measures approximately 16" x 12" unframed and the book measures approximately 11-15/16" x 9-1/2"; painting in with some wear to edges and some bending to bottom left corner; book in Very Good condition. Evelyn Metzger (1911-2007) was a painter of a variety of subjects in a variety of styles including realism, impressionism, fauvism, and cubism. In 1950, she had a major exhibition in Argentina and then exhibited in France, Mexico and the United States. Her work is in the Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C.
