Scottish, first half 20th century. A collection of six heavy and large leather and cloth bound cash ledgers made by George Stewart & Co. of Edinburgh, Scotland for W&G, an unknown bank or financial institution, each ledger with leather spine and corners, marbled page edges and gilt text to spine, the books of varying thickness with at least 500 pages in each, the pages inscribed with personal and business account information in fine handwritten script, the ledgers dating to 1920, 1924 (x2), 1926, 1946, and 1951. Maker's label to pastedown endpaper or loose endpaper of each ledger. Books approximately 17.25" tall x 13.25" wide and of varying thickness.
