David Law (English, 1831-1901) after Sir Oswald Walter Brierly (British, 1817-1894). "The Spanish Armada sailing from Ferrol, 12th July 1588", hand colored etching originally published by H. Graves, London in 1882, inscribed lower left below image "Painted by Oswald W. Brierly R.W.S." and lower right below image "etched by David Law". Finely colored etching depicting the many ships of the 16th century Spanish Armada readying to sail, most with ornate and colorful sails at full mast, also with smaller boats to foreground waters. Framed approximately 32.25" x 41", sight size approximately 19.75" x 29.75".
