Italian, 19th century. Group of nineteen loose cast plaster bas relief intaglio medallions or "gems", each with classical figural scene (some figural groups, others bust length profile portraits) and contained within gilt paper wrapped borders. Grand Tour medallions contained in wooden tray with blue lining. The largest medallion depicting Hercules and Lichas after Canova measuring approximately 3.125" x 2.5". Tray measures approximately 9.5" x 6". Provenance: Bonhams, London, Knightsbridge, Period Design, April 8, 2014 where as sold as part of Lot 395.
