American, circa 1890. A Victorian carved oak Morris style chair having a reclining back, seat and extending foot rest covered in black Naugahyde with brass nailhead trim supported on griffin carved front legs terminating in paw feet and casters. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 39.5", width 30", seat depth 19", depth with extended foot rest 42.5".
