Italian, late 19th/early 20th century. A matched pair of Baroque style giltwood carved open armchairs each having a slightly arching neutral upholstered back with foliate carved 'ears' leading to downswept and foliate carved arms over the padded upholstered seat raised on front molded cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees and terminating in paw feet. Approximate height 40", width 29.37" (ear to ear), seat depth 21", seat height 17".
