American School, late 19th century. "The Fishing Hole", oil on canvas, signed at lower right "C. Walter", inscribed indistinctly at lower left possibly "G. Fischner", with label to verso from restoration. Figural landscape painting with loose impressionistic handling depicting a small fishing pond, likely in the American northeast, with two men moving through the deciduous trees on the far bank of the still water, the pond surrounded by colorful foliage and brush, with overcast late fall skies overhead. Framed approximately 32" x 37". Sight approximately 20.5" x 26". Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S. Jun, M.D., Eastman, Georgia.
