T. Simpson & Son, Halifax (English 1798-1957), circa 1880. An Edwardian inlaid mahogany mirrored triple door wardrobe armoire having a central breakfront with dentil cornice over beveled mirror plate door headed with inlaid panel depicting draping stylized urn and scrolling foliage and opening to a interior fitted with four wardrobe slides above three deep drawers, flanked to the exterior by fluted ionic pilasters, further flanked to each side a shaped paneled door with elaborate inlay following the designs of Thomas Sheraton, George Hepplewhite and Robert Adam depicting ribbon tied bellflowers, over an urn issuing festoons, chains and husks, flambeau torches and seated winged griffins, opening to an interior fitted at the top with hanging garment rod along with nine brass garment hooks, below a deep drawer, raised on wide plinth base. Makers plaques to upper right interior door 'T. SIMPSON 7 SONS, CABINET MAKERS. HALIFAX.' Approximate height 93.37", width 83.37", depth 22.75".
