English, 19th century. A fine Edwardian Adam style pier table, server or console, having a rectangular satinwood serpentine shaped top with chamfered corners, inlaid at the back with demilune shaped patera, the whole crossbanded and banded with Vitruvian scroll inlay above a conforming case teal painted and parcel gilt decorated, the frieze with applied interlocking anthemion decoration over laurel husks raised on six square tapered legs, each decorated with three graduated and interlaced husk mounted wreaths enclosing paterae and headed with oval patera medallions and terminating in Marlborough foot. Approximate height 32.87", width 53.75", depth 23.37".
