"View of Switzerland"-circa 1840-1860, oil on canvas, inscribed on verso of stretcher with title above illegible signature, possibly reading "Samuel Fellows" and 1840 or 1860 date. Horizontally-aligned landscape with figures painting depicting the Swiss Alps with view of green forest and serpentine river in foreground, male figure on horseback near water's edge and rocks, stone turret architecture on hillside at left. Stretcher also with additional stenciled numbers, likely noting earlier inventory. Framed approximately 24.125" x 29.75". Unframed approximately 18.2" x 24.125".
