Chinese, likely 19th century Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). A large and impressively modeled bronze figure of Shou, the Buddhist personification of Longevity, the figure cast in the round at full length standing atop a turtle with the scaly serpentine body of a dragon, the figure in full length floral robes chased with geometric and cloud scroll patterning and holding a peach in one hand at waist level and supporting a dragon staff in other hand to front of body, the figure with characteristic oversized bulbous head, long flowing beard, and joyous facial expression. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 31.5", width 19.5", depth 13". Provenance: From the private collection of Al & Barbara Holloway, Thomaston, Georgia.
