Chinese, 19th century. Fine matched pair of horseshoe folding chairs, likely Hongmu, each having a rounded crest rail terminating in out swept ends carved with dragons, the vertical curving solid splat carved with a stylized dragon and flanked by scalloped flanges at the top over the leather foldable seat supported by cross-leg configuration united by a front footrest, each arm supported by a hooked bamboo shaped brace, a bamboo shaped short straight brace joins the leg extension to the upper leg. Approximate height 35.5”, width 27.75”, seat depth 17”, seat height 18”.
