Italian, late 19th/ early 20th century. A pair of carved wood and cast iron candelabra girandoles, the base of demilune form raised on three bracket feet with shell carved scroll ornament to front of columnar base, surmounted by tall foliate form iron stem issuing two levels of scrolling serpentine iron arms terminating each in one flat candle cup with a carved wood medallion between the two layers bearing a bust portrait of a Roman Centurion soldier, with a fifth candle cup at apex. Verso of one with pencil insription "C.M.5 / m. Italy". Approximate height 29.5", width across arms 18", depth 5".
