After Pasquale Romanelli (Italian, 1812-1887), "Romeo and Juliet", marble, apparently unmarked. A 20th century figural marble group after the original by noted Florentine sculptor Pasquale Romanelli (Italian, 1812-1887), depicting the famed balcony scene from William Shakespeare's (English, 1564-1616) tragic play "Romeo and Juliet", wherein the smitten Romeo climbs to Juliet's balcony for an elicit kiss at her father's estate, the figure's costunes with elaborate and intricate detail including Juliet's fine lace collar and the brocade of Romeo's vest. Overall approximately 48" x 20" x 17". Provenance: From the private collection of Mrs. Blain Allen, Atlanta, Georgia.
