Italian, 19th century. A superb giltwood vitrine on stand having glazed top, sides and front enclosing two glass shelves within a foliate and c-scroll relief carved frame supported by a conforming stand, the frieze elaborately carved in relief to the front with leaf tips over scrolling acanthus, fruit and floral filled baskets and lion masks, to one side egg and dart over a putti, scrolling acanthus and serpent, to the other side egg and dart over scrolling foliate centering lion masks, the whole raised on heavily scroll carved leafy front supports terminating in leafy carved scrolled toes resting on a shaped platform united to the back paneled supports further decorated in relief carved fruit, nut and floral motif. Approximate height 76", width 52.5", depth 22.25".
