Attributed to Antonio Pandiani (Italian, 1838-1928), "Putto Taming Lion", bronze and gilt bronze on silver metal and velvet covered wood base, apparently unmarked, wood base with label to underside "Antonio Pandiani Milano". Figural bronze group sculpture depicting a confident winged putto with whip in hand and arm gripping a none too pleased gilt lion whose head is held low in response to the putto's whip, the lion with muscular features, with silver metal base reminiscent of floral tapestry with fringe surround, surmounted to wood plinth base with velvet covering, wood base with four round silver feet. Overall with base approximately 8.75" x 12.75" x 7.5".
