French, 19th century. A fine parcel gilt figural bronze mantel clock comprising a square gilt base raised on four sideswept c scroll feet joined with rocaille stretchers, surmounted with bronze Neoclassical woman in full length wearing draped dress and striding forward on bare feet with jeweled hair gathered atop head and a smiling expression to her young face, the figure with proper left arm raised to shoulder level supporting a diminutive gilt cartel clock with hand painted round enamel Roman Numeral dial surrounded by gilt bronze floral garlands and c scrolls. Retains key. Clock movement marked indistinguishably "S???F", otherwise unmarked. Approximate height 20", width 11.25", depth 8".
