French, late 19th/ early 20th century. A pair of fine gilt bronze mounted green serpentine marble casoulettes comprising a shaped tripartite base with paneled sides bearing gilt acanthine scrolls, the ends with applied gilt rosettes, the base surmounted by tripod incurvate legs with hoof feet and acanthine sculptural details with imposing horned mountain goat masks at shoulder, the legs supporting an ovoid marble bowl mounted at base with pinecone drop finial under band of leaf tips and flowers, with incurvate bronze neck at top adorned with beaded and egg & dart borders, the domed lid with spreading mouth and applied twisted acanthine band under pinecone finial. Unmarked. Approximate height 23.5", base 9" square.
