Jacob Lawrence (American, 1917-2000), "Builders No. 3"-1974, serigraph on American Etching paper, edition noted, titled, signed and dated in graphite in lower margin "134/150 Builders No 3 Jacob Lauren- 1974". Synthetic Cubist print with social-realist undertones depicting construction laborers, or builders, at work with chisels and hammers as a man with a child on his shoulders and a well-dressed woman pass by. Framed approximately 36.5" x 28.25". Sight approximately 31" x 22". Provenance: Endue Graphics, Forest Hills, New York; whereby acquired by the private collection of Dr. & Mrs. Calvin Wayne McLarin, Atlanta, Georgia. Copy or purchase receipt available upon request. Note: Jacob Lawrence is perhaps best known for his "Migration Series" and "War Series" in which he brought the African American experience to life.
