Framed approximately 52" x 40". Unframed approximately 48" x 36". Provenance: From the Private Collection of the author Mr. William T. Parker, Atlanta, Georgia. Note: In the vein of Romare Bearden (American, 1911-1988) and Jacob Lawrence (American, 1917-2000), William Tolliver is counted among the great African American artists of the 20th century. Tolliver's work is characterized by his self-taught genius and the resulting evolutionary progression of his chosen materials and even style of painting.
