Erik Magnussen (Danish, 1940-2014) for Engelbrechts, circa 2009. A contemporary swivel 'Plateau' lounge chair in hard foam, affixed by polyurethane foam shell and covered in two pieces of fushia colored fabric, one for the seat and one for the back, the chair in organic form having a larger flat surface on the right side and raised on a highly polished aluminum four star swivel base. Approximate height 47.5", width 35.25", seat depth 19", seat height 14". Note: The designer Erik Magnussen found inspiration for Plateau by contemplating the shape of his own left hand; his thumb inspired the chair’s plateau and his other fingers the backrest.
