Holland & Sons (English 1815-1947), S & H Jewell of London (English, 1830-1890), 19th century. A fine triple door mahogany stained wardrobe having a gadroon carved cornice over a leaf tip carved frieze and three paneled doors, the central door inset with beveled mirror, the other two doors relief carved with scrolling foliage, drapery and flowerheads, two doors open to a fabric lined interior fitted with a hanging rod mounted towards the top above two short and two long drawers, the third door concealing six hooks and a rod to the upper part and a hinged covered lifting storage compartment to the base, all raised on a square plinth base. Top left short drawer interior bearing the stamp 'Holland & Sons, 19 Marylebone Street, St. James’s London’. As well as the stamp "S & H JEWELLS FURNITURE WAREHOUSES, 29, 30, & 31 LITTLE QUEEN St, HOLBORN'. Exterior of same drawer is stamped '2151'. The other top short drawer has a gold metal mounted tag for S & H Jewell. The third door with hinged seat is stamped above the lock 'A1073'. Approximate height 82", width 72.25", depth 21.4".
