French, early 20th century. A palatial gilt brass fire fender comprising two short sides and one long front joined by acanthine rolled molding at base embattled by beaded bands, surmounted by gallery with openwork scroll ends and floral on vine motif at center of front section, the corners with open flame torches bearing hanging floral garlands and large acanthus leaves. Unmarked. Approximate width 84.5", depth 14.5", height 14".
