Chinese, 20th century. A lacquered and giltwood center table of square form with four cylindrical legs fully covered in relief decoration depicting serpentine dragons swirling amid cloud scrolls, the legs joined at top by reticulated aprons bearing back panel of cloud form lattice work overlaid with elaborate figural scenes depicting courtly figures engaged in game play, reading, prayer, and conversation, altogether surmounted by flush square top with rounded corners bearing at top a bare central square surrounded by chrysanthemum blossom swags in relief, the table allover with gilt and red accents to the dark stained wood. Unmarked. Accompanied with tag stating provenance from Charles R. Gracie & Sons, Ltd. of New York. Approximate height 30.75", top 30.5" square.
