Chinese. A Yuan Dynasty style porcelain pot or jar of high shouldered bulbous round form with blue underglaze on light gray ground, the constricted foot with a band of underglaze blue lappets under narrow band of scrolls, the body with a wide field comprising hand painted cobalt blue peony and lotus flowers amid thorny stems, the tapering shoulder with further floral decoration, and the short straight neck bearing Lishui patterning (or stylized waves), the underside left unglazed and displaying a pale orange pottery ground with edge cut foot, the porcelain to a fitted lotus blossom form wooden stand. Apparently unmarked aside from a carved swirl form to center of underside. Approximate overall height 13", height of porcelain, 11", diameter 13.5".
