Japanese, late 19th/ early 20th century, Meiji Period (1868-1912). A finely modeled large cast and patinated bronze baluster vase with four inset shaped cartouches to body with decoration in relief depicting birds in flight, perched on flowers, and resting on a river bank, the incurvate neck with cast diamond shaped chrysanthemum blossoms polished to a golden hue, the bronze raised on a fitted lotus form wooden base. Approximate overall height 16.75", diameter 7.5".
