Chinese, first half 20th century. A large bronze okimono group sculpture depicting a mother monkey with baby seated on her lap, the mother gazing upward as her baby lunges forward with peaches strewn about the floor surrounding the figures, the monkeys seated to a rounded rectangular platform with incised serpentine patterning allover to top surface, with leiwen band to side wall over constricted and smooth center surmounting a band of relief lotus blossoms, altogether raised on four mask feet with gaping mouths. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 7.75", width 6.75", depth 6".
