Continental, Late 19th/Early 20th century. Pair of matching gilt bronze mounted animal motif candlesticks with removable candle cup at top (later) within a leaf decorated candle cup on a twisted tubular shaft recalling a vine supported within crane's open beak, body of each bird comprising of a cone shaped seashell, bronze feathered thighs and legs terminating on webbed feet on a shaped naturalistic base with plant ornamentation. Each unmarked. Overall approximate height 10.75", width 4.5", depth 3.75".
