Japanese, Edo Period (1603-1868). A group of 3 iron kyo-sukashi (openwork) tsubas comprising one of naga maru gata form with maru mimi (rim) and central nakago-ana flanked to left by rounded kôzuka-bitsu, with pierced decoration of flowers and leaves (possibly Paulownia); one of naga maru gata form with sukidashi mimi (rim) and central nakago-ana flanked to left by rounded kôzuka-bitsu and cloud shaped kôgai-bitsu at right, decorated with pierced composition depicting a garden bridge over water; and one of heavily scrolled kyo-sukashi mokko gata form with central nakago-ana flanked by kôzuka-bitsu and kôgai-bitsu of bat form. Flower tsuba approximately 3.25" x 3". Bridge tsuba approximately 2.75" x 2.625". Scroll tsuba approximately 2.375" x 2.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S. Jun, M.D., Eastman, Georgia.
