Chinese, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), late 19th century. A rosewood carved table with lobed or petal shaped top inset with conforming rouge marble framed by carved cherry blossoms or prunus and bamboo leaves over the frieze with carved openwork centering winged insects above an elaborate openwork skirt carved with forms of blossoms and branches centered with a longevity sumbol raised on five slightly cabriole legs headed with zoomorphic bat mask and united by a circular undertier and terminating on knuckled claws, each holding tightly onto ball-shaped 'pearls of wisdom'. Approximate 32”, diameter 21”. Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S. Jun, M.D., Eastman, Georgia.
