American, circa 1893. An extremely fine set of Coalport porcelain demitasse cups with saucers from the Chicago 1893 Exposition, comprising the following pieces; one cup and saucer enameled allover with turquoise 'jewels' on an embossed gold ground (pattern Y1772); one cup with unassociated saucer, the cup decorated in yellow ground with scrolling gilt enamel, white ground interior (cup pattern Y1824, saucer pattern Y1843), the saucer decorated with faux moonstone within a foliate and ribbon gilt surround reserved on a yellow and gold ground (pattern Y1843); one cup and saucer decorated with faux moonstone within a foliate gilt surround on white ground, the whole reserved on a robin's egg blue exterior, the interior with gold ground (pattern Y1826), pair of cups and saucers with foliate gilt enamel motif on robin's egg blue ground and white interior (pattern Y1824); one cup and saucer decorated in yellow ground with scrolling gilt enamel, white ground interior to the cup (cup pattern Y1824, saucer with impressed mark 14F3); 2 pairs of cup and saucers with gilt enamel decoration on pink ground, the cup with gold interior (both cups w/pattern Y1584, one saucer impressed 14G3, the other 14i3). All cups with stylized scrolled handles, printed mark for the Chicago Exhibition 1893, and green printed crown Coalport mark. Approximate height of cups 3.5", diameter of saucers 4.5".
