A carved oak Gothic style shelf surmounted by pierce carved tracery comprising of a trefoil pattern with foliate finials central crest shelf with relief carved rampant lion surmounted by a fleur de lis, flanked by two carved spires at each side, all resting on a coved cornice molding over three carved panels beneath a carved foliate pattern, each panel decorated with an individual carved scene of a figure in medieval garb each holding a different object within a pierced carved Gothic arch, flanked by two carved side columns surmounted by gargoyles, all over a 6.5" shelf with coved waist molding surmounting a frieze with carved foliate pattern continuing to sides, the frieze facade decorated with two side columns surmounted by gargoyles, all over a carved base molding. Back wired for hanging. Approximate height 42.5", width 33", depth 9.5", depth of shelf 6.5".
