RUSSIAN HAND PAINTED LACQUER BOXES, 3 PCS. , H 1" - 1 1/4", W 2 1/4" - 5", D 4 1/2" - 7":Russian hand painted hinged lacquer boxes including one entitled: "Geologists" (1963), by the artist Korbakh, from the village of Kholuy, 1 1/4" H. x 2 1/4" W. x 4 3/4" D. The second box appears to be a fairy tale themed box with a flying Nordic style sailing ship above numerous figures on the ground including a jester, 1" H, x 5" W. x 7" D. The third box depicts a winter scene with figures and cottages. 3/4" H. x 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" square. Boxes made from Paper-mache, with egg-tempera and gold paint, and lacquer. Red lacquer interiors.
