Capodimonte (Italian, founded 1743), circa 20th century. Large Capodimonte figural jardiniere stand by modeled by master sculptor Bruno Merli (Italian, 20th century) with pierced circular basket in gilt and turquoise and painted with colorful band of flower heads, the interior in white ground and painted with floral bouquets centered with gilt metal foliate medallion, basket is mounted on a turned and spreading pedestal floral decorated with alternating panels of gilt and modeled with four dancing partially clad cherubic or putti figures with musical instruments scattered at their feet, raised on an oval base decorated with gilt and turquoise banding enclosing white ground and ribbon tied floral bouquets further mounted on to a green simulated marble plinth with concave corners inset with gilt floral medallion alternating with floral painted porcelain plaques raised on a conforming gilt metal base decorated with musical trophies and foliage, the whole resting on four gilt metal toupie feet. Marked "Bruno" along with the Neapolitan N mark. Approximate height 27.5", width 12.75", depth 12.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
