French, 19th century. A set of four walnut side chairs in the Louis XV style with walnut frames, the elongated backs with arched crests and serpentine seat rails with opposing curved aprons, seats and backs upholstered in white cotton wool blend fabric with white raised calligraphic letters brass nailhead trim, all raised on four cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet. Approximate height (tallest chair) 44.25", width 20.5", depth 20", seat to floor 20". Note: chairs of similar but varying heights due to handcrafted construction methods. Note: chairs accompanied with detachable cotton slipcovers in beige with chocolate print depicting flowers, ladies in sun hats, and watering cans, with ruffled skirts.
