ITALIAN SCHOOL, SANGUINE ON PAPER, 4 3/4" X 6 1/2" IMAGE:Depicts possibly Tancred and Erminia or Semiramis and shows a woman cutting her hair with a female attendant holding a sword and helmet and with 2 soldiers in the background; fleur-de-lis stamp or symbol with the letters 'GSI' is in the lower left corner; on laid paper (4 7/8" x 6 5/8") with 'Tiepolo' notations on verso; 'G.B. Pittoni' notation on verso of mount.; framed. Provenance: Ex. Coll. Dr. Richard and Editha F. Sterba (Dr. Sterba is the author of the book, "Reminiscences of a Viennese Psychoanalyst") and was owned by Editha (von Radanowicz-Hartman) when she married Dr. Sterba. Given by Dr. Sterba to the current consignor.
