Swiss, circa 1890s. A Black Forest figural carved stained wood mantel clock carved in the form of a rocky outcrop surmounted by two figures of standing chamois deer, one being a baby, over the circular carved dial having gilt metal Roman numerals flanked by leafy nut clusters, the naturalistic carved base having two chamois deer in prone pose with foliage, rock and tree stumps. The back enclosing the eight day two train movement stamped for Marti & Cie, Medaille de Bronze,17609. Approximate height 17.25”, width 18.4”.
