Italian, 18th century. Hand carved, dark brown polychromed and parcel gilt armchair or fauteuil with medallion form back ornamented with arabesques and S scrolling connecting to sloped arms with scrolled ends. Back and seat upholstered in cream colored gingham and diamond patterned motif fabric. Shaped apron raised on cabriole legs with carved leaf toes. Approximate height 45.5", width (across arms) 26.25", depth 21.25". Seat to floor 16.25".
