Early 18th century. Queen Anne seaweed motif marquetry walnut wood double-chairback settee with embroidered fruit, bird, and floral pale yellow fabric upholstery on seat. Apron of armed bench with additional oblong inlaid medallions. Settee with scrolled arms and scroll decorated knees at front terminating at pad feet. Height 40.2", width (across arms) 53.1", depth 23.9". Seat to floor 19.5". Provenance: Sotheby's New York, October 11, 1996 as Lot 351 whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia.
